pilates austin Vicki Hickerson pilates instructor

Vicki Hickerson is the owner and senior instructor of Body Springs Studio. During her 14 year engagement as a Radio City Music Hall Rockette, Vicki discovered the many strength, balance and flexibility benefits Pilates has to offer while rehabilitating a dance injury.

Following 3 years of private sessions training, Vicki choose Pilates for her second career. She entered the Pilates Method of Body Conditioning instructor certification program at The Pilates Studio of New York which required 600 hours of apprenticeship under the guidance of Romana Kryzanowska (a devotee and pupil of Joseph Pilates) and Bob Liekens (teacher trainer).

After certification, she began teaching at Tribecca Body Works in New York City and The Movement Place in Upper Montclair, New Jersey. Vicki became certified in the Power Pilates program in 2005.

Body Springs Studio fulfills Vicki's desire to offer Austin area residents the advantages of training in The Classical Pilates Method and represents her belief that anyone desiring a total body conditioning program will be greatly rewarded for their efforts under her direction. Vicki is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance and has been a Power Pilates teacher trainer.

Vicki's certifications include Pilates Inc. (Romana Kryzanowska), Power Pilates, and Continuing Education credits include Tom Myer's Anatomy Trains and Body Reading courses.

Vicki has over 16 years of experience as a Pilates instructor.

Traci Velebil was introduced to Pilates following an injury in 2004. After taking lessons privately for several years in Dallas her love for Pilates inspired her to become an instructor.

In 2008, she earned her certification from Power Pilates Teacher Trainer Allison Gonzalez, who owns Purely Pilates in Belmont, California. Traci's passion and commitment to Pilates continued after she earned her original certification after 600 hours of apprenticeship. She continued to teach and study for eight years at Purely Pilates. Traci also studied at these studios in California: East Bay Pilates in Emeryville; Pilates 580 in Oakland; Claremont Pilates in Berkeley, and The University of California Recreation Center in Berkeley.

In addition, Traci has studied under protégés of Romana Kryzanowska. These include Bob Liekens, Shari Berkowitz, Siri Galliano, and Vicki Hickerson. Beyond her hours for certification, Traci has taken countless hours of continuing education on modifications, special cases and injuries, and creativity and cueing.

After teaching for ten years in the California Bay Area, Traci returned home to Austin. She continues teaching and practicing at Body Springs Studio!

pilates austin Misty Warren pilates instructor

Misty Warren was first introduced to the Pilates method as a dance major at The Boston Conservatory and was immediately hooked. She has 14 years of experience teaching Pilates and 20 years experience as a dance educator. She taught movement to students aged 2 to 82 in some of Manhattan's finest institutions including, The Feld Ballet School, The Boys and Girls Club, Ballet Hispanico, New York State Parks and The Jewish Community Center.

In New York City, she studied with master teachers, Irene Dowd, Juan Estrada, Daniel Lyon, and Dixie Lee Mills. She has accrued more than 1,000 training hours in Classical Pilates and Functional Anatomy. Misty is a graduate of the prestigious Real Pilates Teacher Training Program under the guidance of Pilates pioneer and Physical Therapist Alycea Ungaro. Misty is a member of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science as well as a Registered Yoga Teacher.

In addition to her traditional dance and Pilates training, Misty's lifelong fascination with movement inspired study in Hung Ga Shaolin Kung Fu, the Alexander Technique, Flamenco Spanish dance and Laban Movement Analysis. Her teaching style is best described as energetic and informative. Misty's mission is to create a workout experience guided by the balance and flow she seeks in and outside of the studio. She is currently on faculty at Body Springs Pilates Studio.
